We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our team of culinary and front-of-house stars at Fischer’s Baslow Hall – the award-winning and much-talked-about restaurant with rooms which most recently received 4 red stars from the AA.

The food at Fischer’s is bold but beautiful, vibrant, and inventive, but with zero interest in gimmicks and trends. Our Head Chef menu starts with the best quality ingredients, including locally sourced and foraged produce, which he crafts into unique dishes that will stir up memories for years to come. Matched with a range of premium and hard-to-find wines, it’s no wonder that our guests return time and time again.

Key Duties

  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes
  • Managing and training any demi-chef de parties or commis working with you
  • Helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus
  • Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Experience in a 2 or 3 Rosette
  • Innovation and creativity
  • A passion for the culinary arts
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A high standard of personal presentation
  • Confident, professional, and welcoming personality



  • Working a 50-hour working week
  • 2 days off per week (Monday/Tuesday)
