It’s a very special place, famed for its literary links to Thomas Hardy. It has entertained and hosted monarchs and musicians during its 300-year history. Previous guests across the threshold include Queen Victoria, King George IV, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. It’s now being rejuvenated into a 34-bedroom hotel with a fabulous kitchen, contemporary bar and event space.
