We are looking for a Head Chef to join our passionate and talented team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor food stock and place grocery orders
- Cook in a timely manner
- Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans, and pots
- Create menus and daily specials. gather all the necessary ingredients
- Check the freshness of food and discard expired items
- Ensure appealing plate presentation
- Maintain proper procedures to maintain kitchen/equipment sanitation
- Oversee food preparation and production
- Teach new staff skills they require to perform their role to the required standard
- Assisting team members whenever and wherever possible, promoting excellent teamwork
- Ensuring that all practices and procedures are always followed including Health & Safety controls / Food Safety
- Follow instructions from the management team and carry out miscellaneous duties as required
- Be polite, cooperative, and professional with any visitors and fellow team members at all times
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a head Chef (2/3 years experience )
- Must have at least 3/5 years experience in high end restaurants or hotels
- Experience in the Caribbean is prefered
- Must have coaching, supervisory, and staff development skills
- Guest service focused-Professional Team Leader-Detail Oriented
- Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with people
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Creative and imaginative
