We are a community of farmers, butchers, chefs and hosts working with nature in the Black Mountains. Started by a first-generation farming family looking to disrupt the current food system by creating and supporting regenerative farms, reviving local heritage and seeding change in how we connect with our food.

The role is for a hands-on Head chef who can motivate and inspire the team to deliver the very best food and guest experience within the pub and the wider Wild By Nature teams. Working with the best home-grown and the finest British produce. A problem solver, someone who is aspirational to achieve the very best.

  • About you. 

The role would suit someone who has a minimum of three years’ experience as a Head Chef ideally with some Michelin experience in their career, though not entirely essential, and managing your kitchen. You will show strong leadership and people skills along with empathy for the team enabling them to succeed. 

We are looking for someone who is dynamic with a well-versed repertoire. Someone who is excited by simply cooked, exceptional seasonal dishes, has an interest in working closely with the Wild By Nature teams growers and local suppliers. A keen interest and passion for sustainability within the kitchens working practices and appointed suppliers. 

You will have an awareness of financial planning, enabling you to drive profitability in your sector by managing costs and margins. 

 

Remuneration and benefits. 

  • 48hr working week with an excellent work-life balance (working across tuesday to saturday) with statutory leave entitlement
  • Salary ranging from £37,000 - £42,000 dependent on experience  + Full Tronc

  • Shared staff accommodation available if needed

  • Company matched pension contribution

  • Company sick pay

  • After successful completion of your probationary period, you may be provided with a staff discount of 30% on meat products, restaurant meals at our venues (food only) and accommodation up to a maximum total value of £1000 in any calendar year. 

  • Closed Christmas period, days on which Christmas Day falls.
